Doran-Lista Racing's Theys Qualifies Tenth Saturday
For Sunday's Lexus Grand American 400 Season Finale

FONTANA, Calif., Oct. 30 - Didier Theys of Scottsdale, Ariz. will start
Sunday's Lexus Grand American 400 at California Speedway from the outside of row
five by virtue of his fastest lap in qualifying Saturday in the Doran-Lista
DORAN JE4 Lexus #27.

Theys took only 1:33.886 to cover the 2.8-mile, 21-turn road course during
quals, which was good enough for tenth in the 39-car field.  His fastest lap's
average speed was 108.131 mph.

Jan Magnussen of Roskilde, Denmark will drive the car in the second half of
tomorrow's race, which will be broadcast live on SPEED at 4 p.m. Eastern time.

"We modified the brakes, and I was adjusting the brake balance every corner,"
Theys said after qualifying.  "We only did one flying lap.  I think the car
will be OK in the race."

Max Papis won the pole with a lap in 1:30.962 (111.607 mph).

The Bell Motorsports/Feeds the Need Racing #54 topped the DORAN JE4s in the
starting line-up, qualifying sixth.  The Michael Shank Racing DORAN JE4 was
just a tick behind, qualifying seventh.  The Rx.com/G&W Motorsports DORAN JE4
qualified 16th.

Saturday morning the Doran-Lista team was sixth-fastest in the event's third
practice session with a lap in 1:32.640 (109.585 mph). Speeds are generally
slower in the afternoon as the track temperature rises.

There will be a short warm-up session tomorrow morning prior to the race
beginning at 1 p.m. local time.

After the race the series will honor its champions at an awards ceremony at
Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on Monday night, Nov. 1.
