Homestead Tire Test Went Well

HOMESTEAD, Fla., Dec. 2 - Doran Racing logged 430 laps around Homestead-Miami Speedway's 2.3-mile road course during a three-day Hoosier tire test this week.

According to the Grand American Road Racing Association, the team recorded
the most laps of all the teams articipating on both the second and third days
of the test by running 186 laps on Wednesday and 159 laps on Thursday.

Times were not distributed.

Team owner Kevin Doran said the DORAN JE4 Lexus No. 27 ran really well and that the Hoosier tires also performed  admirably.  The Daytona Prototype class
will use Hoosiers in 2005 rather than the Goodyears it has used in the past.

"We had no trouble," Doran said.  "We ran 60 to 80 laps on every set of tires
and they were consistent and solid.  They held up well. I think we'll be in
good shape with them next year."

Doran added that in addition to testing tires, he used the test to give
several drivers an opportunity to experience a DORAN JE4 first-hand. Lead driver
Didier Theys made sure everything was in order and then turned the car over to
various guest drivers so they could see and feel the car's attributes for
themselves.

Among the other drivers who were behind the wheel of the No. 27 during the
test were David Donner, Rick Skelton, Brad Nyberg, Joe Foster, Oliver Kutner and Michael
Culver. Foster, Skelton and Nyberg drive for the Hyper Sport team, which will take
delivery of its own DORAN JE4 very soon.

"We ran the car for three days without any problems at all," Theys said.  "We
only stopped for lunch and at the end of each day. I told Kevin that if the
car runs like that at the Rolex, we can win!"

The next official test hosted by the series will be on Jan. 7-9, when the
annual Daytona Test Days are held in preparation for the Rolex 24 at Daytona
International Speedway on Feb. 3-6 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
