Doran Racing Participates in Rolex 24 Testing Saturday at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 8 - All seven drivers testing Doran Racing mounts
at Daytona International Speedway Saturday said that they were feeling more
comfortable as testing continued at Daytona International Speedway in preparation
for the Rolex 24 Feb. 5-6.

Saturday's practice sessions were delayed three hours due to track
maintenance.  When they finally got underway after lunch, the Doran Racing DORAN JE4
Pontiac #44 of Jan Magnussen, Bobby Labonte, Terry Labonte and Bryan Herta
recorded the eighth-fastest time of the session.  Its fastest lap in that segment
was clocked in 1:49.168/117.397.

The Doran Racing DORAN JE4 Lexus #77 of Didier Theys, Matteo Bobbi and
Fabrizio Gollin was 19th in that session with a 1:51.663/114.774 mph.  A Ferrari
moved over on Theys during that session in a turn and he couldn't avoid it, so
there was some minor damage to the #77. The team soldiered on without too much
of a delay, however.

In the second and final session of the day the #77 was 15th fastest with a
1:49.935/116.578 mph and the #44 was 21st with a 1:51.448/114.995 mph.

It's important to remember that these are testing sessions, and practice
result sheets don't convey how much work is actually getting done as the teams
prepare for their most grueling race of the year.  Traction control, Hoosier tire
wear and improving the cars' balance seemed to be the important topics
Saturday in the pits.

The #44 turned approximately 90 laps Saturday, with all four drivers
participating in the daylight session and Herta and both Labontes also getting some
laps in at night.

The #77 recorded approximately 33 laps Saturday, with all three drivers
recording laps.

Testing will continue Sunday from 10:15 a.m. until noon and from 2 p.m. until
3 p.m.
