Thursday Practice Report from Homestead

HOMESTEAD, Fla., March 3 - Doran Racing's Crown Royal Special Reserve DORAN
JE4 Lexus No. 77 was tenth overall in practice Thursday at Homestead-Miami
Speedway for Saturday's Grand Prix of Miami.

The team's fastest lap of the day was clocked in 1:15.292.  The Ganassi No.
02 of Cort Wagner and Stefan Johansson was fastest with a 1:14.750.

A total of 22 Daytona Prototypes and 27 GT cars are entered in Saturday's
race.

The rain that was predicted for Thursday afternoon turned out to be just
sprinkles now and then during the time the Daytona Prototypes were on the track,
from 2:45 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Both Matteo Bobbi and Fabrizio Gollin were in the No. 77 during that time
span, although Gollin is suffering from the flu.  He developed it on Monday.  He
said he was feeling better than he had earlier in the week, and his doctors
have assured him that he'll be fine for Saturday's race.

Practice continues at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. tomorrow prior to qualifying at 4:30
p.m.  The weather report for the rest of the weekend calls for sunny, pleasant
conditions.

Doran Racing still holds the overall race record for the Rolex Sports Car
series here, as Didier Theys and Mauro Baldi won in 2002 with a time of
2:19:07.881 for an average speed of 107.639 mph.  That was in the now defunct Sports
Racing Prototype class.
