No. 77 Qualifies Eighth;  No. 44 Qualifies 11th
For Tonight's Race at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., June 30 - Fabrizio Gollin qualified eighth in Doran
Racing's Crown Royal Special Reserve DORAN JE4 Lexus No. 77 Thursday afternoon at
Daytona International Speedway for tonight's Brumos Porsche 250 Rolex series
race.  Starting just three cars behind him will be Terry Labonte in the Doran
Labonte Racing Loctite DORAN JE4 Pontiac No. 44, who qualified 11th.

Gollin's fastest lap in the 15-minute qualifying session was clocked in
1:47.359 (119.375 mph), while Labonte's was 1:47.906 (118.770 mph).  Both drivers
recorded their fastest laps in the session on their fifth circuit around
Daytona's 3.56-mile road course.

Matteo Bobbi is Gollin's co-driver, while Bobby Labonte is sharing the No. 44
with his brother.  Both of the later are NASCAR NEXTEL Cup champions, while
Bobbi and Gollin are champions of the FIA World GT series.

The race will be broadcast live on SPEED tonight beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Gollin will start alongside NASCAR's Tony Stewart, while Terry Labonte will
take the green with Doug Goad beside him.

Wayne Taylor won the pole in the SunTrust car with a new track record of
1:45.425 (121.565 mph). The record was due in part to the track's recent repaving.

It was hot and humid all morning, and just a few seconds after the checkered
flew on the qualifying session a thunderstorm hit the area.  The Central
Florida area is experiencing one of the rainiest Junes in history, and the forecast
is for rain tonight.

The Doran Racing crew suspected the No. 77 might have been experiencing an
electrical problem during a morning practice session but they changed several
things on the car and it ran flawlessly in qualifying.

Terry Labonte was pleased with the No. 44 too. He told one of his crew
members that he thinks he went faster in qualifying than he had in practice just
because he tried harder in qualifying.
