Bobbi Qualifies Fifth at the Glen
In Doran Racing's Crown Royal Special Reserve No. 77
For Saturday's Crown Royal 250 Rolex Series Race

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., Sept. 23 - Doran Racing's Matteo Bobbi qualified fifth
Friday afternoon at Watkins Glen International for Saturday's Crown Royal 250
Rolex series race.  His fastest lap in the 15-minute qualifying session with the
Crown Royal Special Reserve DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77 was timed in 1:46.159 for
an average speed of 115.299 miles per hour.

He'll start in row three beside the car that's leading the point standings,
the SunTrust No. 10, when the green flag drops at 3 p.m. tomorrow for the
250-mile/74-lap/two-hour-and-45 minute race on the Glen's 3.4-mile long course. 
After his stint he'll hand the car off to his co-driver, fellow Italian Fabrizio
Gollin.

The race will be televised live on SPEED at 3 p.m. Eastern.

"I slid around a little in qualifying; we'll try to get more grip for
tomorrow," Bobbi said.  "But the car's balance is good.  I wish we had more speed,
but I think we have a good car for the race."

The other DORAN JE4 in the field qualified fourth, as Burt Frisselle had a
time of 1:45.600 (115.909 mph) in the Rx.com/Synergy Racing DORAN JE4 BMW No. 8.

Luis Diaz got the pole in the CompUSA No. 01 with a time of 1:44.836 (116.754
mph).

Earlier in the day there were two practice sessions.  The Crown Royal Special
Reserve team was tenth in the first one with a 1:51.312 (109.961 mph), but
that session only consisted of a handful of laps due to fog.  After the fog
lifted and the rain stopped in the afternoon the team was ninth fastest in the
second practice session with a 1:50.444 (110.825 mph).  It was bright and sunny
for qualifying later Friday afternoon, albeit windy.

Tomorrow's Rolex series race is the Saturday headliner prior to Sunday's
inaugural Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix presented by Argent Mortgage Indy Racing
League IndyCar event.
