Brix Qualifies Seventh in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Mexico, March 3  - It doesn't matter that Harrison Brix doesn't
speak Spanish. He let his accelerator do the talking Friday morning at the
Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez here during qualifying for tomorrow's Rolex series
race.

The series rookie from Campbell, Calif. will start seventh in tomorrow's race
in the Feeds the Need/Doran Racing Kodak EasyShare/Amp'd Mobile/SIRIUS DORAN
JE4 Ford No. 77 that he shares with Terry Borcheller of Gainesville, Ga., the
2003 champion of the ultra-competitive series.

The race will be broadcast during prime time in the States, as SPEED will
show it on a same-day, tape-delayed basis at 8 p.m. Eastern Saturday night.

Brix took less than a minute and a half to cover the 2.5-mile road course
during the 15-minute qualifying session on Friday.  His qualifying time was
1:23.517. The top 10 drivers were all within a second of Scott Pruett's
pole-winning time of 1:22.732.

Brix's fastest lap during the qualifying session was the fifth of nine that
he turned in the time period, when the No. 77 tripped the timing system at an
average speed of 107.762 miles per hour.

"So far things are going very well!" Brix said. "The car is running
fantastic.  Qualifying went well and I am looking forward to starting in seventh.

"Our car is really strong in key points on the track and I think that we have
a chance at an excellent result," he continued. "Tomorrow will be an
interesting day.  Terry and I are optimistic about tomorrow."

As a further testament to how well Brix, Borcheller and the rest of the
Lebanon, Ohio-based team are doing so far in Mexico, the series' defending
champions' car will start five positions behind the Kodak car when the green drops
tomorrow afternoon.  The defending champions of any series are always hard to
beat, and the Kodak crew wants to stay ahead of them if at all possible.

The other DORAN JE4 in the field, the Synergy Racing No. 8, is also doing
extremely well and will start second in the 37-car race consisting of 24 Daytona
Prototypes and 13 GT cars. The distance will be 250 miles/100 laps or two
hours and 45 minutes, whichever comes first.  The race is scheduled to begin at
3:15 p.m. local time.

Three practice sessions were held before quals. The Kodak team was 17th in
the first practice session with a 1:26.227 and ninth in the second practice
session with a 1:24.173. Those sessions were both held on Friday.  The team was
12th in the third practice session, which was held Friday morning before
qualifying, with a 1:23.809.  There will be a 45-minute practice session tomorrow
morning before the race too.
