FTN/Doran Racing Friday Practice Report from Laguna Seca

MONTEREY, Calif., May 5 - The hills surrounding Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
reverberated with the sounds of race cars testing here on Thursday and Friday for
this weekend's U.S. Sports Car Invitational. One of those cars was the Feeds
the Need Racing/Doran Racing DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77 of Terry Borcheller and
Harrison Brix, which carries the colors of the Kodak EasyShare System, Amp'd
Mobile and SIRIUS.

No official times were kept for Thursday's sessions, but the team ended up
13th in the first practice session Friday morning when Borcheller posted a
1:25.948 (93.740 miles per hour average) on the car's tenth lap.  At the time that
was the second-fastest lap run in the session to that point.

When that practice was over the fastest lap overall was a 1:24.716 (95.104
mph) clocked by the Ruby Tuesday Championship Racing Team No. 23 of Mike
Rockenfeller and Patrick Long. The top four cars in that session all had different
engine manufacturers.

In the second practice session on Friday afternoon the FTN/Doran Racing team
posted the16th fastest time with a 1:26.577 (93.059 mph), set on its 20th lap.

The Ruby Tuesday team was fastest again, this time running a 1:24.544 (95.297
mph) for the fastest lap of the day. In that session three of the top five
cars were Ford-powered.

Qualifying for Saturday's 30-minute sprint will be held during a one-hour
session that begins at 8:45 a.m. Saturday morning. The Daytona Prototype sprint,
which offers full points, will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. An
autograph session adjacent to the series souvenir trailer will be held after that at
2 p.m.

On Sunday there's a final practice session at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Road
& Track 250 for both Rolex Series classes at noon. The distance is 112 laps
(250 miles) around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course or two hours and 45
minutes, whichever comes first.  That race will be shown live on SPEED at 3 p.m.
Eastern time.

It was overcast most of the day Friday, with temperatures in the high
fifties/low sixties, humidity of 60 percent, and a 13 mph wind. It's supposed to be
about the same all weekend, although progressively a little warmer each day.

The team tested at the brand-new Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City,
Utah earlier this week.  Borcheller said it was beneficial, as it gave the team
the opportunity to test some things it's been working on behind the scenes as
well as check out the new track before it returns there for the season finale.
