Doran Racing's Jaeger Earns Eighth Starting Spot
For Tomorrow's CTSCC Race at CTMP

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, July 11 — Brad Jaeger earned the eighth starting spot for Saturday's IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park during qualifications Friday afternoon in Doran Racing's #14 Nissan NISMO 370Z RC.

Unofficially, the driver from Charlottesville, Va., took just 1:28.370 to travel over the 2.459-mile, 10-turn road course that he saw for the first time on Wednesday. His fastest lap was the third of six he turned in the qualifying session, and it was only 0.779 of a second off the Camaro that won the Total Pole Award. The Doran Racing #14, which Jaeger co-drives with B.J. Zacharias of Cincinnati, was the fastest-qualifying Nissan in the session.

"It was a good qualifying effort," Jaeger said afterwards. "Our car had a little too much oversteer and it's not where I wanted to be, but it's a top-10 starting spot and we were the highest-qualifying Nissan.

"Our car is good on the long runs, so we just hope to be there at the end like we were at Watkins Glen," he added, referring to the car's second-place finish at Watkins Glen, N.Y. on June 28.

Jaeger loves the track.

"It's magnificent," he said. "It was great that we had a test session on Wednesday so I could learn the track before the first practice session. I'm really enjoying my time here; it's a fun, fast track."

The Lebanon, Ohio-based team's #41 car, the Tower Events Nissan 370Z, will start from the rear of the Grand Sport field in Saturday's race after it suffered a problem with its ABS braking system at the start of the qualifying session. It did not record a qualifying time. That car is driven by John Farano and David Empringham, both of Toronto. They hope pit strategy will help them be among the front-runners at the end of tomorrow's 2-hour-and-30-minute race.

The race, part of the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix presented by Hawk Performance, is slated to get the green flag at 1:15 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday, with live coverage on imsa.com.

The #14 was tenth in the first official practice session on Thursday afternoon with a time of 1:28.650 and an average speed of 99.858 miles per hour. The #41 was 15th with a 1:29.081 (99.375 mph).

The #41 was the faster of the team's two cars in the second practice session on Friday morning, posting the 12th-fastest time with a 1:28.256 (100.304 mph). The #14 wasn't far behind, as it was 15th with a 1:28.512 (100.014 mph).

Saturday's race is scheduled to be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on Fox Sport 1 at 10 a.m. Eastern on Sunday, July 20.
