Doran-Lista Team Works Hard on Set-up
Saturday at Homestead
HOMESTEAD,
Fla., Sept. 18 - The Doran-Lista Racing team worked hard
on the
set-up of the Doran-Lista DORAN JE4 Lexus #27 during practice
sessions Saturday
at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Didier
Theys of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Kelly Collins of Newport
Beach, Calif.
will drive the car, which won the most recent Rolex series
race, in tomorrow's
two-hour-and-45-minute Miami 250 Rolex series race. It
will start at 11 a.m.
and it will be broadcast live on SPEED.
The
grid was established by team points, so Collins will start
fifth prior to
Theys taking over.
The
team was 14th in the first practice session Saturday with
a 1:19.412
(104.266 mph) and 13th in the afternoon practice session
with a 1:18.890 (104.080
mph). It was very hot and humid at Homestead on Saturday
but it didn't rain
for either session.
The
Daytona Prototype field is very close. The fastest car
here Saturday,
the SunTrust Riley Pontiac #10, had a top time of 1:15.535
(109.618 mph) for the
day.
"We
changed the set-up from what we had this morning and we
improved a little
this afternoon," Theys noted. "The handling
is more predictable now, I will
say that, but we're still not where we want to be.
"The
road course hasn't been used for three months; nobody
tests in Florida
in the summer, so there is no rubber down and the grip
level is very poor.
"Kelly
[Collins] and I both drove today. I didn't have any problems.
Kelly
spun once in the entry of turn one but it wasn't his fault;
we had just made a
change and the car was very loose."
