Bobbi Qualifies Fifth Friday at Mid-Ohio
For Saturday's EMCO Gears Classic Rolex Series Race

LEXINGTON, Ohio, Aug. 26 - Matteo Bobbi will start fifth in Saturday's EMCO
Gears Classic Rolex series race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course after
recording a qualifying time of 1:22.013 for the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course
Friday in Doran Racing's Crown Royal Special Reserve DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77.  That
works out to an average speed of 99.116 mph.

Bobbi's co-driver in Saturday's race, which will be televised on SPEED at
noon ET on Sunday, will be Fabrizio Gollin.  The distance is 250 miles, 111 laps
or two hours and 45 minutes.

Qualifying was cut short when the SunTrust No. 10 caught on fire in turns two
and three.  Luckily driver Wayne Taylor wasn't hurt, but the car suffered
extensive damage.  That entry is the current point leader.

"I only got three or four laps in during qualifying, but the car is good,"
Bobbi said afterwards. "It's a very challenging track.  We're looking forward to
tomorrow's race."

Friday's sessions were run under overcast skies but luckily there was no rain.

Alex Gurney got the pole in the Gainsco/Blackhawk Racing No. 99 with a
1:20.395 (101.111 mph).

The SunTrust car had topped the charts in the first practice session with a
1:20.287 and the Krohn Racing/TRG No. 66 did the same in the second practice
session with a 1:20.758.

The Crown Royal car was ninth in the first practice session with a 1:21.419
and 14th in the second one with a 1:22.352.
