Thursday Practice Report from the Glen


WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., Sept. 22 - Doran Racing's Crown Royal Special Reserve
DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77 and its rivals in Saturday's Crown Royal 250 were on the
track for practice Thursday afternoon at Watkins Glen International.

The team ended up 13th in the rundown for the combined practice sessions with
a fast lap of 1:47.813 (113.530 mph).  The CompUSA No. 01 car of Luis Diaz
and Scott Pruett was fastest with a 1:46.100  (115.363 mph).

"We tried some things and we ran the whole practice on old tires, so I don't
think it was too bad," said Matteo Bobbi, who will qualify the car tomorrow.

"We will make some changes and go faster tomorrow," agreed his co-driver,
Fabrizio Gollin, who put the car on the pole for the last Rolex series race here.
  "I think we will be fine."

The other DORAN JE4 in the field, the Rx.com BMW No. 8 of the Frisselle
brothers, was eighth-fastest with a 1:47.666 (113.685 mph).
