Hot News & Press from Doran Racing

On-Track Work Continues on Friday at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 6 - Doran Racing continued to test at Daytona
International Speedway on Friday for the Rolex 24 that is coming up Jan. 28-29.

Friday's test was split into two sessions for the Rolex series: one from
10:15 a.m. until noon and the second from 2:15 p.m. until 5 p.m.  A cold front
came in overnight and the temperatures were in the fifties, in sharp contrast to
Thursday's seventies.

The team continued to work on the set-ups on both the yellow-and-white Kodak
EasyShare DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77 and the red Doran Racing DORAN JE4 Ford No.
78, with drivers Terry Borcheller, Harrison Brix, Forest Barber, Michael
Jourdain Jr. and B.J. Zacharius all getting seat time.  The No. 77 car had a minor
off-track excursion once in the bus stop, but it just collected some grass and
didn't suffer any damage.  The team worked a great deal on old tires on Friday
in order to simulate what the cars and drivers will face during the majority
of the race.

Through the six practice sessions held yesterday and today the No. 77 has
recorded the 17th-fastest time so far, while the No. 78 is ranked 25th so far. A
great many things are being worked on than just raw speed, however, and all
the drivers said they are getting more comfortable in the car.  Barber said he's
driven more laps in the last two days than he has in the last two years, but
he added that he isn't sore because he'd been working out in preparation for
the challenge that lies ahead.

Practice will continue and conclude on Saturday with two sessions at 10:15
a.m. and 2 p.m.

The results from Friday follow:

Practice 5 (10:15 a.m.-12 p.m.)

14. #77, 1:45.651 (121.305 mph)
20. #78, 1:46.812 (119.987 mph)

Practice 6 (2:15 p.m.-5 p.m.)

15. #77, 1:45.460 (121.525 mph)
31. #78, 1:52.315 (114.108 mph)
