Thursday Practice Report from PIR for Kodak Car


PHOENIX, May 11 - The Feeds the Need/Doran Racing DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77
participated in both scheduled practice sessions Thursday at Phoenix International
Raceway in preparation for Rolex Series races here Friday and Saturday.

The car, which carries the colors of the Kodak EasyShare System, Amp'd Mobile
and SIRIUS, was 18th overall in the first practice session Thursday with a
fastest lap of 59.675 seconds (91.093 miles per hour). That lap was the 19th one
it ran out of 41 trips around the 1.51-mile road course in the session.

The SunTrust No. 10 of Wayne Taylor, Max Angelelli and Jan Magnussen was
fastest in that session, and for the day, with a 57.729 (94.164 mph).

The Kodak car ended up 17th in the evening practice session, which was held
under a full moon, with a fastest lap of 59.483 (91.387 mph). It was the eighth
of 36 laps it ran in that session.

The Krohn Racing No. 76 of Jorg Bergmeister and Colin Braun was fastest in
the evening session with a 57.917 (93.858 mph).

After the doubleheader at Laguna Seca last weekend the Feeds the Need/Doran
Racing team is 11th in the Daytona Prototype team point standings.

Tomorrow's schedule shows the qualifying session for the Daytona Prototype
sprint at 1 p.m. followed by that 30-minute race at 7:45 p.m.  An autograph
session is also slated for Friday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

There's a practice session on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. followed by the
two-hour-and-45-minute Daytona Prototype/GT race at 7 p.m. that night.

The weekend is billed as the GAINSCO Grand Prix.

Highs on Thursday were in the low hundreds, with more of the same forecast
for Friday and Saturday. No rain is predicted.
