Brian Frisselle, Richard Set for Full Season With Doran Racing

Brian Frisselle will be Doran Racing's lead driver in 2011 DP competition.

CINCINNATI, Ohio -Doran Racing will return to the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 in 2011, with Brian Frisselle and Henri Richard sharing the No. 77 Ford/Dallara for the season. The pair will be joined at the Rolex 24 At Daytona by British champion Ross Kaiser and Matt Bell.

Frisselle, 27, has six seasons of DP competition under his belt, winning four races for SunTrust Racing and AIM Autosport. The Colorado resident finished third in the 2009 championship and fifth in the 2008 standings.

Richard, a native of France now living in California, made his debut in the Rolex 24 in 2010, opening his first full season in professional sports car competition. He scored ALMS class victories at Lime Rock Park and the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, in addition to a German Super Cup victory.

"My first impressions of a Daytona Prototype were really good ones," Richard said. "Obviously there's a lot more downforce and also more power than in the GT cars I've driven so far, but the car was very balanced and very easy to drive. The biggest adaptation for me was switching to left-foot braking, something I had never done in a car despite being familiar with it in karting. The Doran team prepared a great car for us, and between their crew and my terrific teammates, I really look forward to a spectacular Daytona 24."

Kaiser's championship in the Radical UK Cup carried the British driver to victory in the coveted Sunoco Rolex 24 Driver Challenge. He outpointed competitors in four European championships to earn a funded drive in the Rolex 24, complete with pre-event testing.

Bell spent the past two years in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, winning two races in 2000. He raced in a pair of DP races for Doran Racing, finishing sixth at New Jersey Motorsports Park and seventh in the season finale at Miller Motorsports Park. He made his Rolex 24 debut, finishing 10th in GT for Stevenson Motorsports.

The four drivers will participate in this weekend's Roar Before the Rolex 24, Friday through Sunday at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the Jan. 29-30 49th running of the Rolex 24.
