Doran Racing's Nissans Will Start Fifth and 13th
In Friday's CTSCC Season Finale Friday at Road Atlanta

BRASELTON, Ga., Oct. 2 — Doran Racing's Brad Jaeger will start fifth and John Farano will start 13th in Friday afternoon's IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season finale at Road Atlanta.

Jaeger, Farano and most of their rivals only completed two laps in Thursday afternoon's 15-minute qualifying session before it was abruptly halted by a red flag brought out after Max Riddle's Aston Martin crashed in Turn 10.

Jaeger's qualifying time for the  2.54-mile, 12-turn road course was 1:32.416, which was only 0.320 off third place and 0.769 off the pole. The Charlottesville, Va.-based driver was behind the wheel of the Doran Racing NISMO Nissan 370Z #14 that he shares with B.J. Zacharias of Cincinnati.

Farano's best time in the Tower Events Nissan 370Z #41 was 1:34.658. He'll start the race Friday at 1:15 p.m. Eastern time and then hand it off to another Toronto-based driver, David Empringham.

"I was coming on the backstraight when the yellow came out; I didn't see what happened to the Aston Martin," Jaeger said.  "My tires were definitely cold for the first lap, but the second lap was OK. I feel I could have gone faster if the session had continued, but everyone in the field feels that way. I'm glad we got up to speed quickly and we're starting near the front. Hopefully we'll be able to be clear of any wrecks and be able to fight with the other top cars all day tomorrow. The weather forecast is for rain, but B.J. and I are going into this race in a good mindset and we'll get it done one way or the other!

"The Nissan 370Z is a great car, and it's especially strong during long runs," he added.  "We should be fine no matter if it's wet or dry. It's a good car for this course. It's very drivable and it has good speed. We'll see what the weather brings, and hope for a good finish!"

The Lebanon, Ohio-based team's Nissan 370Zs are two of 20 Grand Sport entries in the 2.5-hour race, which will also include 31 Street Tuner cars.

Both Nissans were fast immediately out of the transporter. The #41 was second after one hour of practice Wednesday afternoon with a lap in 1:31.717, only 0.121 off the car that topped that timesheet. The #14 was fifth with a 1:32.121.

The #14 was seventh in the second practice session when the series took to the track for 45 minutes Thursday morning. Its best time in that session was a 1:31.757. The #41 was 14th with a 1:32.537.
